Hana is a roomy sweater with a cropped silhouette, a simple yet elegant addition to your everyday wardrobe. Mine is worked in a thick, rustic wool, which gives the sweater body and warmth due to the thermal properties of the wool. It is worked top-down in stockinette stitch and finished with a feminine, rounded neckline in a two-by-two ribbing.

CONSTRUCTION

Begin by working the back while simultaneously casting on new stitches for the shoulders using the backwards loop cast-on method. Next, pick up stitches for the left and right fronts respectively and work them separately until you join the body. Short rows are worked to make the back longer. Continue in the round and finish with a two-by-two ribbing. Stitches for the sleeves are picked up, and short rows are worked to create a sleeve cap. Finally, stitches are picked up for  the collar.

LEVEL OF DIFFICULT

Easy to medium.
