Aegyo sweater is a soft and plush cable sweater, featuring classic cables and half fisherman’s rib. The sweater is designed to showcase a playful and oversized look by working with a very light air-blown yarn. The oversized fit and the dropped-shoulder design can be worn by both men and women.

The Aegyo sweater begins with working the back piece in half-fisherman’s rib, then stitches are picked up along the shoulders for the left and right front pieces. The left and right front pieces are joined to be worked in one piece after the neckline shaping is finished. Once the front and back pieces reach the armhole length, pieces are joined to work in the round. Stitches for sleeves are picked up from the body and worked in the mix of cables and half-fisherman’s rib (HFR). The neckband is picked up from the body at the end to finish the sweater.
Different sides of the HFR stitch in the Aegyo sweater are described as ‘OutSide’ (OS) and ‘InSide’ (IS). The OS is what is conventionally considered the “wrong side” of the Half-Fisherman’s Rib pattern. The Aegyo Sweater is intentionally designed this way to enhance the overall soft impression of the sweater by exposing the ‘curved’ side of the HFR. The terms OS & IS are used to describe HFR throughout the pattern, rather than RS & WS, to avoid confusion.
